There are many different ways that you could conduct a traffic analysis on your website. Of course there are many website companies who will tell you that they can do it all for you, if the price is right that is. I even considered using some of them until I found out I could do it myself for free.
A quick Internet search will reveal that there many free services and traffic analysis programs out there that will let you check and monitor your own statistics. Remember that this is an ongoing venture because you will have to check your statistics on a fairly regular basis to check your websites health. So it will be better in the long run to learn to do your own analysis and save yourself heaps of ongoing costs.
As long as you know hoe to log into your control panel (cpanel) on your domain, then you can access a folder which will contain your website analysis program. There are several programs that various webhost use to analyse traffic. The most popular one of those is a program called Awstats. You will find a link to it on the first page of your control panel.
When you open the Awstats folder you will see a small icon called ‘view’, click on this and your world of traffic analysis will unfold before your eyes. It really is quite amazing to see the many different statistics that this program gives you. Take your time to have a look at everything, because now that you know where to find it, it will become your new best friend as far as giving you the insights to all your web traffic.
